Cherry with Minwax English Chestnut stain, Formby's "low gloss" tung oil, (3 coats), butchers wax.

6 dovetail drawers - maple/cherry; 8 burgundy velvet inserts; two side doors with Brusso brass "hooks"; brass piano hinges; brass pulls; hidden compartment; approx 120 hrs to complete.

This piece was custom made for a client who needed plenty of space to store a large jewelry collection. The side doors - each with seven brass hooks for hanging necklaces - wrap around the front of the cabinet and overlap the drawer edges. Full mortised locks (two locks/one skeleton key) secure the entire cabinet, including the hidden compartment. The first 4 drawers hold 8 velvet lined, custom inserts (a full and a half insert in each); the bottom two drawers, as well as the side doors are velvet lined.
